Question 1

What is PlayAndPatch?

Accepted Answer

PlayAndPatch is a community-driven platform where you can find and download game translations, localization patches and trainers, and check whether they are compatible with your game version. You can also vote on community requests, create your own requests and follow games to be notified about new releases. Learn more on our [About](/about) page.

Question 2

Is it free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. PlayAndPatch has no paid memberships or premium features. Anyone can browse the catalog; to vote, create requests and follow games, simply [sign up](/sign-up) for free with your e-mail address or sign in with Google or Discord.

Question 3

Which languages are translations available in?

Accepted Answer

Any language. Turkish players make up the largest part of our community, but translations in other languages are just as welcome. You can browse content by language on the Games and Translations pages. The site interface itself is available in Turkish and English.

Question 4

Are you affiliated with game developers or publishers?

Accepted Answer

No. PlayAndPatch is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game developer or publisher. Translations and trainers are made by community authors. Game titles, logos and artwork belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification purposes only.

Question 5

How do I install a translation or trainer?

Accepted Answer

Open the game's page, choose the translation or trainer you want and read its installation notes — every package is different. In general:

1. Check that the file is compatible with your game version.
2. Back up your game files and saves before installing.
3. Follow the author's installation instructions step by step.

If something goes wrong, restore your backup or verify your game files through your launcher (for example, Steam's “Verify integrity of game files” option).

Question 6

Are the files safe?

Accepted Answer

Files are prepared by community authors. We aim to publish only clean files from trusted sources: files that approved uploaders publish are scanned with VirusTotal and can't be downloaded until the scan has finished, and files with detections, files that can't be scanned and external links wait until our team reviews them. Even so, we can't guarantee that every file is error-free or harmless, so you install them at your own risk. Scan downloads with up-to-date antivirus software, only run files you trust and report anything suspicious through the [contact page](https://playandpatch.com/contact).

Question 7

Why does my antivirus flag a trainer?

Accepted Answer

Trainers work by reading and changing the memory of a running game — behaviour that antivirus software also associates with malware. That's why even clean trainers are often flagged (a false positive). If you're unsure about a file, don't run it and contact us so we can take a look.

Question 8

Can I use trainers in online games?

Accepted Answer

No. Trainers are intended only for single-player or offline use. Using them in online or multiplayer modes is unfair to other players, usually violates the game's rules and can get your account permanently banned. Some games with anti-cheat systems can detect trainers even outside multiplayer modes, so read the trainer's notes carefully.

Question 9

Why does a download take me to another website?

Accepted Answer

Some authors prefer to publish their work on their own website or community page. In that case, the “Go to source” button takes you there. Because that site isn't operated by us, its own terms and privacy policy apply.

Question 10

What does “Compatible with the latest version” mean?

Accepted Answer

It means the translation or trainer has been marked as compatible with the game's current version — the most recent version listed on the game page. Each file also lists all the game versions it is compatible with.

Question 11

What does “Awaiting update” mean?

Accepted Answer

The game has been updated, but the translation or trainer hasn't been confirmed as compatible with the new version yet. It may still work with earlier versions, so check its list of compatible game versions. Follow the game to be notified when a compatible version is released.

Question 12

How do I find out which version of a game I have?

Accepted Answer

Most games show their version number in the main menu, on the title screen or in the settings. On PC, you can also check the game's properties in your launcher or the file properties of the game's executable (.exe). Then compare the number with the versions listed on the game page.

Question 13

My game updated and the translation stopped working. What now?

Accepted Answer

Game updates can change the files that translations and trainers depend on. First, check the game page to see whether a compatible version has been released. If not, follow the game to be notified when it is — you can also create an update request, or vote on an existing one, on the [requests page](/requests).

Question 14

Where can I see what changed in a new version?

Accepted Answer

Every game page has an update history that lists new translation, trainer and game versions, along with notes on what changed.

Question 15

How do community requests work?

Accepted Answer

After signing in, create a request on the [requests page](/requests), in the [Requests category of the forum](/forum/requests) or from a game's page: choose the type (translation, trainer, update or adding a game), the game and — for translation requests — the language, and write a title and, if you like, a description. If a similar request already exists, your vote is simply added to it. New requests are published on the Requests page and in the forum once our team approves them, and you get a notification when that happens. Then other players can vote and comment, and the most-voted requests rise to the top. Your display name is shown publicly next to the requests you create.

Question 16

How does the forum work?

Accepted Answer

The [forum](/forum) has categories for announcements, news, requests, translations, trainers, game talk, help and off-topic. After signing in, you can start a topic with a title and description in any of them, comment on topics and like comments; you get a notification when someone comments on your topic. Every published news post, translation and trainer has its own topic in the forum, so the comments under an article or a translation also appear in its forum topic. Only our team can start topics in Announcements. Our moderators may hide, lock or move topics that break the rules.

Question 17

How does voting work?

Accepted Answer

Each account can vote once per request and can withdraw its vote at any time. Who voted is not shown publicly — only the total vote count is visible. Some requests may also include votes carried over from earlier community polls held outside the site. Please follow our [Community Guidelines](/guidelines): one account per person, no bots and no vote manipulation.

Question 18

Will the most-voted requests definitely be completed?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Votes show authors what the community wants most, but translations and trainers are made by independent authors who decide for themselves what to work on. Each request's status — Open, Planned, In progress, Completed or Rejected — shows where it stands.

Question 19

How do notifications work?

Accepted Answer

Click “Follow” on a game's page. You'll then receive an in-app notification whenever a new translation, trainer or game version is released for that game. You may also be notified when the status of a request you're involved in changes. You'll find all your notifications on the Notifications page. The games you follow are not shown to other users.

Question 20

I'm a translator or trainer author. How can I share my work?

Accepted Answer

We'd love to feature it! Write to us through the [contact page](https://playandpatch.com/contact) with the “Content / translation suggestion” subject and tell us about your work: the game, language, version, compatible game versions and a download link. Every listing credits you as the author. See our [About](/about) page for details.

Question 21

How do I sign up and sign in?

Accepted Answer

[Sign up](/sign-up) with your name, e-mail address and a password, then [sign in](/sign-in) with the same details. When you sign up, you confirm that you are at least 15 and accept our [Terms of Service](/terms). When enabled, you can also continue with your Google or Discord account; the e-mail address of that account must be verified with the provider. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash, and we never see your Google or Discord password. After you sign up, a confirmation link goes to your e-mail address; confirm your address with it before signing in. If your address already has an account, no new account is created; instead, you get an e-mail with links to sign in and to reset your password. If you forget your password, ask for a reset link with [Forgot your password?](/forgot-password) on the sign-in page; if the e-mail doesn't arrive, write to us through the [contact form](/contact). You can change your password in your [profile settings](/profile/settings).

Question 22

What data do you store about me, and what is public?

Accepted Answer

Only what your account and the community features need: your name, username, e-mail address, profile picture URL, "About me" text and preferred language, plus the games you follow, your votes, requests, comments, tier lists, feedback posts, support tickets and notifications. Your profile is public by default (name, username, picture, "About me", level, public tier lists and the profile comments you approved); you can make it private in your settings. Your e-mail address, votes and support tickets are never public. We don't use analytics, ads or trackers. All traffic to the site goes through Cloudflare for protection and speed, and Cloudflare processes the IP address of every request on our behalf. We don't log every page view: only when you post content, upload a file, write in a support ticket or sign in do we keep a traffic log with your IP address and the time, as Turkish Law No. 5651 requires; these logs are never shown on the site and are deleted after a year. All the details are in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy).

Question 23

Can I change my name, username or profile visibility?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can change your display name, the username in your profile address, your "About me" text, whether your profile is public or private, and your interface language at any time in your [profile settings](/profile/settings). On a private profile others see only your name and picture. Your display name is initially the name you entered when signing up or your Google or Discord name; if you'd rather not show your real name, you can use a nickname.

Question 24

I found a bug or want a feature — where do I write?

Accepted Answer

Use the [Ideas and bugs](/feedback) board for public ideas and bug reports; your post is checked automatically against our rules before it's published. Others can vote to push yours up, and the team posts the status and its answer there. For things about you — your account, a download or your personal data — open a private ticket in the [Support center](/support) and follow the answer in your notifications.

Question 25

How do I delete my account or download my data?

Accepted Answer

Go to your [profile settings](/profile/settings). “Download my data” gives you a JSON file with your profile, followed games, votes, requests, forum topics, comments, tier lists, ideas and bug reports, support tickets and notifications. In “Delete account” you confirm by typing your username and pick one of two options: **delete in 14 days** (you're signed out and your profile is hidden; sign in again during that time to cancel) or **delete now**. A deleted account's profile, comments, votes, tier lists, notifications and support tickets are deleted; your requests, forum topics, ideas and bug reports stay without your name. As the law requires, traffic logs are kept for 1 year and a record of the deletion without personal data for 3 years; see the details in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy#account-deletion). You can also revoke our access in your Google or Discord account settings.

Question 26

Do you use cookies?

Accepted Answer

Only the ones we need: cookies that keep you signed in, secure the sign-in and sign-up process and remember your language and your PS Share view, plus browser storage for your theme. Cloudflare, which protects the site, may also set its own strictly necessary security cookies, only when its bot protection or a security check needs them. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, which is why there's no cookie banner. See our [Cookie Policy](/cookies) for details.
