The spirit of our community
PlayAndPatch brings together players and authors who want to make games playable in more languages. These guidelines help keep the community friendly, fair and safe.
They apply to everything you do on the platform — including requests, notes, votes, comments, your display name and the messages you send us — and form part of our Terms of Service.
Be respectful
- Treat other players, authors and moderators with respect, even when you disagree.
- Harassment, threats, insults, bullying and personal attacks are not allowed.
- Hate speech and discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other characteristic are not allowed.
- Don't post sexually explicit, violent or otherwise illegal content.
- Don't impersonate other people, authors or the PlayAndPatch team.
- Many translators and trainer authors work on their projects in their free time. Be patient and constructive, and don't pressure authors or demand release dates.
Fair voting
Votes help show which translations and trainers the community needs most, so they must reflect genuine interest.
- One account per person. Don't create additional accounts to vote more than once.
- No bots or automation. Don't use scripts, bots or other automated tools to vote, create requests or interact with the site.
- No vote trading. Don't offer or accept rewards for votes, and don't organise coordinated fake voting campaigns. Sharing a request with friends who genuinely want the same thing is fine.
Votes that appear to be manipulated may be removed without prior notice, and the accounts involved may be suspended.
Creating good requests
- Requests must be about real games.
- Choose the right type: a translation (with the language you want), a trainer, an update for an existing translation or trainer, or adding a new game to the catalog.
- Search before you create a request. If a similar request already exists, your vote is added to it automatically.
- The title should say what you're asking for (e.g. "Turkish translation for Elden Ring"). Use the optional description for helpful details such as the game version, platform, store or scope — not for advertising, links to illegal content or personal information. The title and description are publicly visible.
- New requests are published on the Requests page and in the forum once our team approves them; until then only you can see them. Duplicate, meaningless or rule-breaking requests are not approved.
- Requests are not promises: authors decide for themselves what they work on. Even a request with many votes may take a long time or never be completed.
Profiles, profile comments and tier lists
- Your username, "About me" text and tier list titles are public too; the forum and comment rules apply to them as well. Usernames that impersonate someone may be changed.
- Tier lists you want to make public are checked automatically by AI before they're published, together with their title, description, tier names and the names of the games in them. A list found to break these guidelines doesn't become public and you're told why; when the check can't run, the list stays visible only to you and our team until a moderator decides.
- A comment you write on someone else's profile stays hidden until its owner approves it. Don't post the same comment again and again to get it approved; the owner may choose not to publish it.
- The comments you approve on your profile must follow these guidelines too. Don't approve an inappropriate comment; if you did, you can delete it.
- Your level is calculated from your real activity on the site. Don't use fake accounts, bots, meaningless comments or vote-trading schemes to level up.
Ideas and bug reports
- Before posting, search the board for a similar post; if there is one, vote for it instead of opening a new one.
- Keep each post to one topic. For bugs, say what you did, what you expected and what happened, and on which page and device.
- Posts are checked automatically by AI, together with their title and text, before they're published. A post found to break these guidelines isn't published and you're told why; when the check can't run, your post stays visible only to you and our team until a moderator decides.
- Never post security vulnerabilities on the board; report them privately with a support ticket.
- Don't use extra accounts or automated tools to inflate votes or begs.
Safe and clean files
- Files uploaded to or linked from PlayAndPatch must be free of viruses, malware, adware, cryptominers and any other harmful code, and must do only what their description says.
- Don't share files that collect personal data, change system settings unnecessarily or install unrelated software.
- Files that approved uploaders publish can't be downloaded until the virus scan (VirusTotal) has finished. Files with detections, files that can't be scanned and external links wait until our team reviews them.
- About antivirus warnings: trainers work by reading and modifying the memory of a running game, which is why antivirus software sometimes flags even clean trainers (false positives). This doesn't mean every warning can be ignored: only use files from sources you trust, and if you suspect a file is harmful, report it to us immediately.
- Always back up your game files and saves before installing a translation or trainer.
No piracy
PlayAndPatch is about translations and trainers for games you own — not a way to get games for free.
- No pirated games, cracks, keygens, DRM bypasses or “repacks”.
- Don't request, share or link to paid content (games, DLC, paid translations or paid trainers) distributed without the rights holder's permission.
- Requests clearly aimed at piracy will be rejected or removed.
Trainers and fair play
- Use trainers only in single-player or offline modes.
- Never use trainers in online or multiplayer games, in competitive modes or in any way that gives you an unfair advantage over other players or affects their experience.
- Using trainers online may violate the game's rules and lead to a permanent ban — that risk is yours alone.
- Some games with anti-cheat systems can detect trainers even outside multiplayer modes. Read the trainer's notes carefully before using it.
Protect privacy
- Your display name is shown publicly next to the requests you create. If you'd rather not show your real name, you can set a nickname in your profile settings. Your votes and the games you follow are not public.
- Don't post personal information about yourself or others (such as addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or account details) in requests or notes.
- Never share your password or your Google or Discord sign-in details with anyone. The PlayAndPatch team will never ask for your password.
Moderation
To keep the platform safe, we may take the following actions when content or behaviour breaks these guidelines or our Terms of Service:
- editing or removing requests, notes or other content;
- removing manipulated votes or merging duplicate requests;
- rejecting requests (the request's status is then shown as “Rejected”);
- suspending accounts temporarily or permanently.
We decide based on the severity and frequency of the violation. Serious violations — such as distributing malware or illegal content — may lead to immediate suspension. If you think a moderation decision was a mistake, contact us and we'll review it.
Reporting problems
If you come across content that breaks these guidelines — such as a suspicious file, a broken or malicious link, abusive behaviour, an inappropriate profile, vote manipulation or a copyright issue — please open a ticket in the Support center, or use the contact page if you don't have an account. Include a link to the page concerned.
For copyright matters, see our Copyright & DMCA page; for personal rights violations and official orders, see the notice procedure in our Terms of Service.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
Forum and comments
Topics and comments are checked automatically by AI before they're published: a text that clearly breaks these guidelines isn't published and you see the reason right away; you can edit and resend it. When the check can't run, your post is published once our team approves it.
Our moderators may hide, lock or move topics that break these guidelines, and comments that break them may be removed without prior notice. Accounts involved in repeated violations may be suspended.
